Outpatient Radiology Scottsbluff Earns ACR Accreditation

Outpatient Radiology Scottsbluff, ACR accredited

Outpatient Radiology Scottsbluff (OPR-S) has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®), making it the the first MRI unit in Western Nebraska to receive this designation. MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. The accreditation comes after OPR-S’s voluntary efforts meet ACR’s high standards for safe, high-quality imaging. The accreditation is not required, but rather a choice by any given imaging facility.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting specific requirements based on ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed. The findings are reported back to the facility and provide the practice with a comprehensive report that can be used for continuous practice improvement.

The ACR accreditation is important because it lets patients know can trust that the MRI unit at OPR-S is assessed annually by a medical imaging and Magnetic Resonance Physics expert. In addition, they can trust their results are diagnostically accurate, and OPR-S personnel meet ACR qualification standards.

“At Outpatient Radiology Scottsbluff, we are proud to be an ACR accredited facility. While this designation is optional, at OPR-S, we keep our standards high, so our patients know when they choose us, they receive the highest quality imaging and care. By voluntarily seeking this accreditation, we can keep ourselves accountable to deliver patient care and imaging services that exceed expectations so when you come to our facility you can trust that your imaging is of the highest quality,” says Outpatient Radiology Scottsbluff’s Clinical Operations Manager, Levi Keener.

Now ACR accredited, OPR-S’ state-of-the-art MRI suite is equipped with the latest technology to provide patients with a comfortable experience while receiving the highest-quality imaging. Their MRI unit paired with highly trained technologists provide clear, accurate, and fast imaging so patients spend less time in the scanner and more time living their life.
