Womens Health Promotion

Four businesses have come together with one goal in mind:

Bringing awareness to Breast Cancer in Wyoming!

Casper Medical Imaging, Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative, Wyoming Cancer Resource Services, and Myriad have all come together for a HUGE October Promotion to raise awareness to Breast Cancer in Wyoming.

From October through December – every woman who completes #1 and #2 on the following list will have their name put in a drawing for an amazing basket full of “work from home” goodies that is valued at over $500 AND includes an Apple IPad!

Casper Medical Imaging/Outpatient Radiology

One in eight women, or 12%, will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Despite this fact, we can feel empowered by the opportunity that annual screening provides to detect breast cancer as early as possible. The evidence is clear that early detection of breast cancer improves the odds of survival.

The addition of tomosynthesis, or what is described as “3D” imaging, to standard two-view mammography improves the detection of breast lesions. We offer standard 2-view mammography in addition to tomosynthesis to every patient because we know what is at risk. It is so important for every female, 40 years of age and older, to undergo screening mammography that we do not require a physician’s order to perform your imaging. That’s right, all you need to do is call to make an appointment, no order required. There is nothing standing between you and your peace of mind, so please call        307-232-5012 and schedule your screening mammogram today.

Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative

How We Got Started

The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative was established in 2016 under the fiscal sponsorship of the Wyoming Community Foundation when there was a need for a statewide breast health organization. We received our own 501c3 status in 2019. Our granting goal is $75k-$100k annually to Wyoming only breast health programs that match our mission.

Our Impact

Since inception, WBCI has granted more than $350,000 into 58 projects and a breast cancer screening and early detection program available in every county across Wyoming.

Our Mission

The WBCI aims to raise awareness and fund breast cancer programs in Wyoming with an emphasis on increasing breast health education, financially assisting breast cancer screenings, facilitating patient navigation, and promoting survivor services.  Through fundraising efforts across the state, proceeds remain in Wyoming to grant into eligible programs.

Wyoming Cancer Resource Services

The Wyoming Cancer Resource Services (WCRS) are regional, community-based coordinators providing support services to Wyoming residents. They educate about cancer prevention programs, services, and cancer risk factors, and they promote early detection of cancer by educating about screening recommendations. They refer clients to cancer screening programs and provide patient navigation for Wyoming residents needing local, regional, state, or national cancer information and resources including transportation and financial assistance. Finally, WCRS coordinators develop partnerships with health systems to implement evidence-based interventions to increase cancer screening rates.
